You can install apps from Google Play Store or Apple Store that can create these covers for you including Highlight Cover for Instagram Story, Highlight Cover Maker for Instagram – StoryLight, and Canva.
All you have to do is pick a background and select icons from their collection that represents the highlight. Once you are done, you can save the image designs to your gallery.
Through your app, long press on your existing highlight and tap Edit Highlight.
You will see the “Edit Cover” option under the original highlight cover. Now you may choose which cover you would like to have. To choose a photo from your gallery, tap the photo icon below. Now you can rearrange and edit them for as long as you’d like.
