A fashion label that owns its own checkout

Plum & Grey sells contemporary womenswear from Lagos. The brand now runs its own storefront rather than renting attention, and keeps both the margin and the customer.

The client
Plum & Grey is a Lagos womenswear label built on bold prints and timeless silhouettes, working out of Oniru on Lagos Island. The range runs from tees and tank tops to double sleeves and tracksuits, priced between forty and seventy thousand naira.
What the site had to do
  • A storefront that looks like the brand, not a marketplace listing
  • Tools that reduce hesitation, since that is what stops a clothing sale
  • Its own checkout, so the customer relationship stays with the brand
  • A reason to buy now on a first visit
What we built
1
The collection presented as the brand wants it seen. Full-bleed photography and the brand’s own language, Bold Prints and Timeless Silhouettes, rather than a product feed that looks like everyone else’s.
2
Shopping tools that reduce hesitation. Quick Shop, wishlist and compare, so a browser can hold three options side by side, which is how clothes are actually chosen.
3
Its own checkout, in naira. Prices and payment on the brand’s own site, so Plum & Grey keeps the margin, the data and the customer relationship instead of renting them.
4
A first-order incentive. A twenty per cent first-order code surfaced on the site, turning a browser into a first purchase while they are still there.
5
The details that build trust. Shipping and delivery terms, a Lagos address and stated opening hours, plus the brand’s mission and vision, because a young label has to prove it is real.
