Website design
One next step, on every page, for people already under stress
Davies Legal handles immigration, business and family law in Mississauga. People arriving are often anxious and in a hurry, so every page ends in the same place.
The client
Davies Legal is a Mississauga law firm providing strategic and compassionate representation in Immigration and Refugee Law, Business and Corporate Law, and Family Law, working with individuals, families and businesses. Its stated values are integrity, excellence and compassion.
What the site had to do
- Three practice areas clearly separated, because the clients have nothing in common
- Real procedural detail, since immigration clients search for specific processes
- Reassurance, as many arrivals are frightened rather than shopping
- A consultation route from anywhere, with expectations set
What we built
1
Three practice areas, properly separated. Immigration and Refugee, Business and Corporate, and Family Law, each with its own page. A refugee claimant and a founder incorporating a company need entirely different things.
2
The procedural detail people actually search for. Refugee protection claims before the Immigration and Refugee Board, Basis of Claim preparation, appeals to the Refugee Appeal Division, judicial reviews at the Federal Court, pre-removal risk assessments, deferrals and reconsiderations. These are the terms clients type when they are in trouble.
3
A consultation page that sets expectations. What to expect is spelled out: a review of the issue, guidance on options and likely outcomes, an explanation of the process and room to ask questions. It also states plainly that a consultation does not by itself create an ongoing lawyer-client relationship.
4
Reassurance, because most arrivals are worried. Values stated as integrity, excellence and compassion, a Why Choose section, and a profile of the principal lawyer, so a visitor knows who they would be trusting.
5
The same next step everywhere. Book A Consultation in the navigation, in the header button and at the foot of every practice area, so nobody has to hunt for it.
What the site does now
- Separates immigration, business and family law properly
- Names the specific procedures clients search for
- Sets out what a consultation involves, and what it does not
- Introduces the principal lawyer and the firm’s values
- Keeps Book A Consultation reachable from every page
